I am a self-taught photographer with a background in communications and graphic design. I work in 35mm format on colour transparency film, preferring to shoot outdoors under available light. Whether making photographs of natural or man-made subjects, I try to make memorable images by using my subject matter and lighting conditions as visual design elements. My photographs do not undergo any digital manipulation and are only slightly cropped from the original transparency. What you see is what I saw.
I am a big fan of Canadian photographer Freeman Patterson. It is Freeman's writing about the craft of photography, his artistic philosophy and, of course, his photographs that continue to inspire me the most.
I invite you to browse my galleries. If you see a photograph that you would like to purchase, click on it to see a larger version and access an online order form.
